Episode 1 - Yuki On‘na -- Bean Sneachta / Snow Woman (As Gaeilge)

The Yuki On’na (Bean Sneachta in Irish, Snow Woman in English) is a recurring figure in Japanese folklore. In this version of the story, the beautiful, elusive Yuki On’na pays a chilling visit to woodcutters who are sleeping in a stable taking shelter from the storm.

This story was documented by the Japanese-Irish writer Lafcadio Hearn, around 130 years ago in Japan and is brought to your ears by the Yakumo Kamishibai Paper Theatre as part of NWJCG.
