Episode 2 - Urashima Taro (English)

This Japanese folktale tells the story of Urashima Taro, a fisher boy who voyages to the land of eternal youth/summer and spends three years there. He returns to his home village only to find that not three years but several hundred years have passed …. this legend, which is remarkably like the Celtic myth “Oisín in Tír na nÓg”, had been recorded as an “historical incident” in official documents in the 8th century in Japan.
